HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's tennis team posted its first Landmark Conference victory of the season with a 9-0 win over Goucher College, Sunday afternoon on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts.

Juniata (7-5, 1-2 Landmark) won straight-set wins in five out of the six singles matches, with Ryan Navarro (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) requiring the tiebreaker set in his win over Goucher's Steve Baum at no. 3 singles. Navarro won the first set 6-3, but dropped the second set 4-6, before taking the tiebreaker set, 6-4.

In doubles competition, Arnab Chakrabarti (Alpharetta, Ga./Alpharetta) and Jarrad Silver (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) notched a 9-8 (7-5) win over Goucher's Baum and Michael Brooks at no. 1 doubles. The pairing of Jonathan Skoner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) and Aaron Rhodes (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) logged an 8-3 win at no. 2 doubles, while Navarro and Casey Chew (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) rounded out doubles play with an 8-6 win at no. 3 doubles.

The win gives Juniata a 7-5 overall, for the program's best record since a 13-5 mark in 2005-06.

Juniata returns to the courts on Monday, April 6, when it travels to Elizabethtown College to face the Blue Jays.
