HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- For the second week in a row, Juniata College senior middle hitter Dan Powers (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) has been recognized with EIVA Tait Division Player of the Week honors, for his play while leading the Eagles to a pair of EIVA Tait wins.

Powers chalked up 11 kills on 17 swings for a .529 hitting percentage, while leading Juniata to a 3-0 win over Saint Francis. He also had three digs and 4.0 total blocks against the Red Flash.

The following night, Powers had another 11 kills on 15 swings in the Eagles' 3-1 win over George Mason University, clinching the no. 2 seed for the upcoming EIVA Tournament.

For the week, Powers hit .562 with 22 kills and just four errors on 32 total attacks, with eight digs and 6.0 total blocks. He averaged 3.14 kills, 1.14 digs, and 4.07 points per set over seven sets played.

Juniata is 14-7 overall, 8-4 in the EIVA Tait Division, and completes its 2009 regular season schedule on Wednesday, April 8, against East Stroudsburg University, in a match played at Hempfield High School in Landisville, Pa.
