HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Juniata College's Luke Waddell (Muncy, Pa./ Muncy) scored in the second overtime period against St. Vincent to lead Juniata to a 2-1 win, Tuesday evening at Detwiler Park.

The first ten minute overtime period yielded no goals, however the fourth minute of double overtime ended the game with Waddell's goal. Waddell's game winner was scored from a long yarded shot, but slipped through the arms of St. Vincent keeper Gabe Cooper. Senior Caleb Davis (Salt Lake City, Utah/ Highland) is credited with the assist.

Trailing at the half, Juniata rallied to score just seconds before the end of regulation. The final seconds of the second half saw a flurry of action as sophomore David Grim (Boalsburg, Pa./State College) scored, assisted by senior Andrew Steffen (Lewisburry, Pa./ Red Land).

Saint Vincent's only goal came in the 24th minute, unassisted from Ben Fecik.

"There's no way we would have won that game the last couple of years. We would have found a way to lose and that's why this team is different, they can fight to the end," says Juniata's head coach Dan Dubois.

Saint Vincent outshot Juniata 14-13 and held a corner kick advantage of 8-4. Juniata's junior goalkeeper Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./ James Madison) recorded nine saves. Credited with five saves is Saint Vincent goalkeeper Cooper. Both played the entire 105 minutes of the contest.

Juniata men's soccer will return to action with the beginning of a four game away stretch September 10th at 7 p.m. when they take on Penn State Harrisburg.
