HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Drew University's 33 turnovers led to 26 Juniata College points, providing the margin of victory and then some as Juniata women's basketball rolled past Drew, 61-40, in Friday night's Landmark Conference matchup at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.

In addition to taking advantage of Drew's self-inflicted woes, Juniata connected on 10 of its 27 three-point attempts (.370) - a better shooting clip than its overall field goal percentage of .329 (24-of-73) on the night.

Freshman Paige Robertson (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) led the three-point barrage with a 4-of-7 effort from beyond the arc on her way to a game-high 19 points. Junior forwards Jen Hnatuck (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and Erin McGinley (Ashland, Pa./Tri-Valley) each had seven points for the Eagles; Hnatuck led Juniata on the boards with nine rebounds.

Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic) dished out six assists to go with six points and two rebounds. Her nine steals against Drew was two shy of the Juniata record.

Drew's Jana Jagodzinski led the Rangers with 12 points off the bench. Of the Rangers' five starters, two were held scoreless and the remaining three mustered just eight points. Starter Jessica Reid led all players with 12 rebounds, leading a Drew squad that outrebounded Juniata, 45-37.

Fortunately, Juniata didn't need the rebounds all that much, as it smothered Drew on defense and then posted its sixth game this season with at least 10 three-pointers.

The Eagles (13-8, 7-3 Landmark) jumped out to a 13-2 lead by the 15:48 mark of the opening half, with a pair of buckets by Hnatuck and a trey by Bankos. Juniata later went on an 8-0 run that extended its lead to 17 points, 25-8, with 10:56 showing on the first half clock. Meagan Raville (McSherrystown, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Bankos each popped three pointers to fuel the run.

Drew was held scoreless over the final six minutes of the opening stanza, and Juniata went into the locker room at the intermission with a 41-16 advantage.

Drew (11-9, 2-8 Landmark) chiseled its way back into game with a 11-2 run that lasted nearly 10 minutes, and cut the Juniata lead down to 51-36 with 5:55 remaining.

Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) answered with a jumper and Alyssia Gordon (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) drained a three-pointer, putting Juniata back up by 20 points, 56-36. Hnatuck added another bucket before Drew managed to break the Juniata run on an Ashley Logan layup, but by then there was only a minute remaining on the clock.

Juniata closes out its 2009-10 home slate on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. when it hosts the United States Merchant Marine Academy. The Eagles' lone senior, Kelly Rotan (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) will be honored during pre-game ceremonies.
