BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Juniata College freshman Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) posted a pair of top ten finishes while sophomore Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) was second in the 5000m run to lead Juniata finishers at the Moravian College Greyhound Invitational, held Saturday at the Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field.

Parker's time of 15:30.72 in the 5000m was nearly 17 seconds better than his seedtime, and marks the second-best Juniata outdoor time in the event. He led a trio of top 20 finishers for Juniata in the 5000m: Steve Schmitt (New Providence, Pa./Solanco) was 12th with a time of 15:55.75, while Sam Williams (Roaring Spring, Pa./Central-Martinsburg) was 13th in 15:59.52.

Ryan Baird (North Huntindon, Pa./Norwin) and Kevin Donahue (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) were the only other Juniata males to finish among the top ten individually. Baird was fourth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.25m (13-11.25), while Donahue was sixth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:28.96.

Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City) was 12th in the 1500m with a time of 4:11.63, and Vinny Smith (Butler, Pa./Mars) was 14th in the 110m hurdles in 16.86 seconds. Aaron McCoy (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) was 19th in both the 100m and 200m, with times of 11.70 seconds and 23.60 seconds respectively.

In the women's events, Shaffer was tied for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.55m (5-1), and also turned in a sixth-place finish in the 100m with a time of 15.94 seconds.

Also in the field events, Stephanie Varner (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) was seventh in the pole vault after clearing a height of 2.90m (9-6.25), while Skylar Kulbacki (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) was eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.50m (34-5.5). Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) was 15th in the shot put with a throw of 10.23m (33-6.75).

On the track, Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) and Jessica Koenig (Milford, Del./Delaware Valley) were third and fourth respectively in the 3000m steeplechase with times of 12:13.35 and 12:38.09 respectively. Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton) was 15th in the 400m, posting a time of 1:02.24.

Juniata will compete next Saturday, April 24, at Shippensburg University's Paul Kaiser Classic.
