HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's cross country squad was picked to finish fourth among Landmark Conference teams in 2010, in preseason voting by the league's head coaches and sports information directors which was released on Thursday.

The Eagles, which has never finished lower than third in a Landmark cross country meet, received 56 points in the poll.

Three-time champion Susquehanna University was tapped to win the conference crown again in 2010, receiving 83 points in the voting. Moravian College and the University of Scranton were tied for second with 65 points, followed by Juniata in fourth.

Trailing the Eagles were the United States Merchant Marine Academy in fifth place with 44 points, followed by Goucher College (36 points), Drew University (24 points), and Catholic University (19 points).

Juniata will be paced this season by 2009 All-Landmark performer Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa./Oil City), who was 13th in last season's Landmark meet with a time of 28:17. The Eagles open their 2010 season on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Bucknell Opener.
