LATROBE, Pa. -- A freshman for Juniata College women's soccer scored the game-winning goal on Tuesday afternoon, to shutout Saint Vincent College 1-0.

After a scoreless first half, Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) finally snuck in a much-needed goal in the 59th minute as she dribbled to the top of the 18-yard line to finish in the upper 90 of the net.

The offense was relentless, outshooting the Bearcats 34-2. The Eagles had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) had nine shots on goal for the Eagles with Caitlin Bigelow (La Mesa, Ca./The Academy of Our Lady of Peace) coming in a close second with six shots. Snyder scored on her fifth shot of the game.

Senior Kristen Penska (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) was the winning goalkeeper for the day. She saw 75 minutes in the goal for Juniata, but was not challenged. Sophomore Gabrielle Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) played the final 16 minutes and made one save.

Saint Vincent keeper Kirstie Mills finished with 11 saves and played the entire match.

The Eagles will play on their own field against Elizabethtown on Saturday, Sept. 11, in a 1:00 p.m. match.
