HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's soccer team was shut out 8-0 when it traveled to non-conference opponent Frostburg State, on Saturday evening in Frostburg, Maryland.

The Bobcats scored first in the 8th minute. Amanda Wharton had the first goal and another later in the second half at the 63rd minute. She also assisted Lauren Russell in the 57th minute, who had two assists of her own. Kierstin Stevenson also had two assists.

Juniata was outshot 22 to four, but each team had three corner kicks.

Kristen Penska (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) saw 71 minutes of the match, making five saves for the Eagles. Gabriella Ricciardi defended the final 20 minutes, making two saves. The Bobcats played three goalies throughout the evening, including Michelle Buckmaster who had one save. Jessica Flewellyn and Kristin Prochniak were not challenged.

Juniata is back on its own turf this week on Wednesday, Sept. 22, when it takes on Pitt-Greensburg at 4:00 pm in a non-conference match-up.
