HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's soccer team topped non-conference opponent, the Lady Bobcats of Pitt-Greensburg, 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Winton Hill Field.

Juniata came out strong right off the tip-off, beating the Pitt-Greensburg defense in the third minute. Jennifer Graves (Manchester, Ct./Manchester) finished off of a cross from Lauren Brant (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown), recording her first collegiate goal. The score remained 1-0 until the 34th minute when Katie Young (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) assisted Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, Ny./Burke Catholic) for her first collegiate goal. In the 37th minute Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) headed the ball in the net off an assist from Heather Hodge (York, Pa./York Suburban).

The second half was interrupted by lightning, but the Eagles remained composed and maintained their lead. On the defensive side of the action, Molly Sellars (Caldwell, Nj./Caldwell) played a solid game as center back, challenging balls in the air and feeding her teammates passes. Gabriella Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massepequa) recorded her first collegiate start in goal, her first win and first shut out against the Lady Bobcats. She was not challenged but came out of her box to clear loose balls. Michelle McConnell defended the goal for Pitt-Greensburg, making nine saves throughout the match.

Juniata outshot Pitt-Greensburg 33-0 and had eight corner kicks compared to zero from the Lady Bobcats.

The match was called at the 76-minute mark due to weather conditions but the win will count for Juniata.

Juniata returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when it travels to Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. for a 1:00 Landmark Conference match.
