Towson, Md. -- The Juniata College women's soccer team beat Landmark Conference opponent, Goucher College, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in Towson, Md.

Caitlin Bigelow (La Mesa, Calif./The Academy of Our Lady of Peace) kicked off the scoring with a header in the tenth minute of the match off a combination feed from Erin Eddinger (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and Alicia Snyder (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon). Lauren Brant (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) finished off an assist from Aimee Radic (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon Area) from outside the 18-yard box in the 30th minute. Radic also assisted Heather Hodge (York, Pa./York Suburban) off of a free kick in the 34th minute.

The Eagles answered with an unassisted goal by Jennifer Graves (Manchester, Ct./Manchester). Kettner responded with another goal for the Gophers assisted by K. Matthew Parker in the 69th minute.

Finally, Jennifer Novak (Rome, Pa./Northeast Bradford) topped off the scoring for the game with an assist by Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, Ny./Burke Catholic). Novak's well-earned goal was the first of her collegiate career, after moving from a defensive to a forward position this season.

Gabriella Ricciardi (Massapequa, N.Y./Massepequa) subbed in for the last 9 minutes of the match but was not challenged. The Gophers played two keepers, including Regan Foy with three saves, and Kellen Matthews with six.

Juniata outshot Goucher 23-13 and had two corner kicks compared to three from Goucher.

Juniata returns to the action on Wednesday, Sept. 29, when it hosts Westminster College at Winton Hill Field for a non-conference match.
