HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Second-ranked Juniata College women's volleyball improved to 14-1 on the season with a pair of convincing victories over Haverford College and Lynchburg College, Saturday afternoon at the Gardner Center.

Juniata opened up with a 3-1 win over Haverford, by set scores of 25-20, 12-25, 25-21, and 25-20.

Junior outside hitter Drew Barnhart (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) tallied 12 kills with two blocks in the win, while Shelby Cassell (Grantham, Pa./Mechanicsburg) served up four aces. Libero Libby Morrison (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) sprawled for 15 digs.

The Eagles followed up with a 3-0 win over Lynchburg, taking the Hornets by set scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-21.

Senior middle Kirstin Noetzel (Closter, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) logged 11 kills with four blocks, with Cassell and Kelsey Fuller (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) putting away two service aces. Morrison again served as Juniata's defensive anchor, turning up 10 digs.

Juniata returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 29, when it hosts Elizabethtown College in its third annual "Dig Pink" night match. Juniata women's volleyball will be promoting breast cancer awareness with activities throughout the match, and raising money for the Side-Out Foundation, an organization that raises funds for breast cancer research through volleyball.
