HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- A retired human resources executive at PPG Industries will spend a week in residence at Juniata College and preside over an open forum on "Preparing for Success in a Business Setting," at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Room 225 Brumbaugh Academic Center on the Juniata campus.

The open forum is free and open to the public.

Charles "Bud" Wise, vice president of human resources at PPG, will spend the week of Nov. 8-12 as "executive in residence" at the college. During the week he will participate in more than six business classes and provide individual counseling sessions for Juniata students on interviewing techniques, resume preparation and career guidance.

Wise, who taught business and economics at Juniata from 1973 to 1979, will take part in such classes as Advanced Accounting, Behavioral Analysis of Organizations, Human Resource Management, The Management Process and Portfolio Investing.

Wise joined PPG in 1969 as a manager at the company's Mount Vernon, Ohio glass plant. After earning an M.B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh, he joined Juniata as a business professor in 1973.

In 1979 he retuned to PPG in the company's coatings division in the human resources department. He eventually joined PPG's corporate management team, earning the title of vice president, human resources.

The former executive, a native of Pittsburgh, earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio University.

Wise retired from PPG in August 2010 and continues to serve on Juniata's board of trustees. He also served on the board of directors for the Human Resources Policy Association.
