WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Kean University shot 59 percent from the field and had five players in double figures in a 102-62 win over Juniata College, in Saturday's championship game of the McDaniel College Women's Basketball Tip-Off Tournament.

Juniata (2-1) was held to 31 percent (24-77) shooting from the floor by Kean, who is ranked ninth in this week's USA Today/WBCA Division III coaches poll. Kean connected on 41 of its 69 field goal attempts.

Sophomore guard Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) led the Eagles with 19 points, most of that off a 5-of-7 performance from beyond the 3-point line. Freshman Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) chipped in with 10 points off the bench, going 4-of-10 from the field including one trey.

A 15-0 run by Kean lasting nearly five minutes early in the first half gave the Cougars a commanding 17-4 lead at the 12:33 mark of the opening frame. Juniata briefly reined in Kean with a Glinsky 3-pointer and a pair of free throws by junior guard Ashton Bankos (York, Pa./York Catholic), cutting the deficit to 17-12 with 10:17 showing in the first half.

That would be as close as Juniata would get to overtaking Kean. Another Cougar run, this time totalling 10-0, allowed Kean to hold a 47-26 lead at halftime and expand on it in the second half.

Juniata picked up its shooting percentage in the second stanza, shooting 38 percent (15-42) from the field compared to 26 percent in the first half. However Kean matched the Eagles step-for-step in the shooting department, hitting 67 percent of its second-half shots in the win.

Kean was paced by Naimah Clemons' 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting, while starters Emily Cristaldi and Tiffany Patrick added 15 and 12 points respectively. Nicol Biesek and Briana Winston added 13 and 11 off the bench.

Juniata will make its 2010-11 home debut on Tuesday, Nov. 23, when it hosts Alvernia University at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
