HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's volleyball team placed second in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 15 Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday.

Juniata (5-1) checked in with 223 points, trailing top-ranked Springfield College (1-2) with 240 points including all 16 first-place votes.

UC-Santa Cruz (1-2), whom Juniata defeated 3-1 back on January 8, was third, followed by Nazareth College (0-0) in fourth place. The Eagles will face Nazareth College this weekend in a round-robin event at Thiel College.

Rivier College (3-0) rounded out the top five, followed by Philadelphia Biblical (0-0), Baruch (0-0), MIT (3-0), NYU (0-1), and Carthage College (1-1).

Juniata puts its 5-1 record on the line this Saturday, Jan. 22, when it faces Nazareth College at 3:00 p.m. followed by Carthage College at 7:00 p.m. at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa. The Eagles will face the host squad from Thiel on Sunday, Jan. 23, at 5:00 p.m.
