HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College freshman Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./ State College Area) earned Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Monday, following her outstanding weekend performance that helped fuel Juniata's two Landmark road wins.

McDonald logged her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds during the Eagles' 73-54 victory over Goucher College, Friday night in Towson, Md. In Saturday's 76-60 win over Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., McDonald scored 11 points while collecting nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Over the two victories, McDonald shot 42 percent from the field, averaging 12.5 points and 11.5 rebounds.

As a freshman, McDonald has certainly been a driving force in the Eagles' current 14-6 record. Not only is she leading the team in rebounds with 8.5 per game, but she is tied for second on the team in scoring with 9.7 points per game with 39 steals.

Juniata heads into the upcoming week of conference play with a four-game winning streak. The Eagles have won their past four games by an average of 18 points, the closest game being their seven-point win over Catholic. Juniata returns to the court on Friday, Feb. 4, at Drew University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
