HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Four Juniata College winter student-athletes have been named to the Landmark Conference 2010-11 Winter All-Academic Team, which was announced Monday.

Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) for men's indoor track and field, Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) for women's basketball, Dan Sekulski (Daniel Boone, Pa./Daniel Boone) for men's basketball, and Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) for women's indoor track and field, were among the 32 student-athletes from across the eight Landmark Conference institutions named to the team.

Bauer is a junior studying physics who has also excelled for the Juniata track and field team. He earned first-team All-Conference when he won the long jump at the Landmark Indoor Championships and also added a runner-up finish in the triple jump. Bauer volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician, sings in the community choir and created an organized an event that raised $1,000 for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Glinsky is a sophomore with a program of emphasis in management. She helped Juniata claim its first Landmark Conference women's basketball championship this season. Glinsky was second on the team in scoring and averaged 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She led the team with 39 three-pointers, ranking her tenth all-time for Juniata. Glinsky volunteers with numerous organizations including Habitat for Humanity and made the Dean's List in the fall of 2010.

Sekulski was a standout for the men's basketball program in his junior season as he led the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game. He was ranked in the top ten in the conference in points and assists and his 58 steals this year rank second in school history. He earned Dean's List in the fall of 2010, is studying elementary education, and volunteers at a local retirement center.

Angela Shaffer, from Prospect, Pa., produced another solid indoor track season for Juniata. She earned first-team All-Conference honors by winning the high jump at the Landmark Indoor Championships for the second-straight year, and has multiple top-five finishes at Landmark Championships. She is studying biology at Juniata, is a member of the ceramics club, and volunteers with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.

Two male and two female student-athletes from each of the eight Landmark Conference institutions are selected for the All-Academic Team, which honors student-athletes who have excelled athletically and academically. Nominees for the Winter All-Academic Team could compete in any of the Landmark's winter sports, and must have at least sophomore academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.

The 2010-11 Winter All-Academic Team contains 11 seniors, 14 juniors, and seven sophomores. All four Juniata honorees are first-time selections to the All-Academic Team.
