HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Donald White, Pennsylvania state senator from the 41st Senatorial District, will speak at Juniata College on "How ObamaCare Impacts Pennsylvania,' at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, in Neff Lecture Hall in the von Liebig Center for Science on the Juniata campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

White has worked consistently to promote competition in the medical insurance marketplace and to improve consumer access and affordability for healthcare coverage.

White is chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Banking and Insurance Committee and has worked consistently to promote competition in the medical insurance marketplace and to improve consumer access and affordability for healthcare coverage.

White, who attended Juniata College from 1968 to 1972, was elected a state senator in 2000. He represents the 41st District, which includes all of Indiana County and parts of Armstrong, Butler, Clearfield and Westmoreland counties. He is a vice-chair of the Transportation Committee. He also serves on four other committees: Community, Economic and Recreational Development, Environmental Resources and Energy, Law and Justice, and State Government.

White was instrumental in helping the Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership establish itself as part of the state's Keystone Innovation Zones program. White was the primary sponsor of the law expanding the state's Keystone Opportunity Expansion Zones by creating Keystone Innovation Zones in areas located near colleges and universities.

A native of Kitanning, Pa., White is a resident of Indiana, Pa. After leaving Juniata he served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975.

He is a member of the National Rifle Association and the Farm Bureaus of Indiana and Armstrong counties. He also is a member of the Armstrong County, Indiana County and Strongland chambers of commerce.
