HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College staff members and faculty will share stories of their lives, in the panel presentation, “Who's Your Neighbor: Story Listening,” at 3 and 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Sill Boardroom in the Von Liebig Center for Science.

The 3 p.m. panel discussion is designed for faculty and staff at the college. The 7 p.m. event is intended for students and is open to the public.

The panel is part of the Beyond Tolerance Event Series, featuring discussions and workshops focusing on diversity issues.

Panelists at the event will share personal narratives on how they challenge and embrace issues such as gender, race, class, ability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age ethnicity and culture in their own lives

Panelists participating in the event are:

--Pat Hunter, college counselor, works with students as a counselor at the Juniata Health and Wellness Center.

--Caroline Gillich, head couch for field hockey and assistant softball coach, has been at Juniata for almost 20 years and has coached the field hockey team to many conference titles and to participate in the NCAA Tournament.

--Matthew Damschroder, vice president for student life and dean of students, joined the college’s senior leadership team in 2016. Previously, he was assistant dean of students for campus life at Illinois Wesleyan University.

--Cynthia Merriwether-DeVries, associate professor of sociology, joined the faculty in 2001. Before starting her career in higher education, she was children's program coordinator at the Centre County Women's Resource Center.
