MEN?S BASKETBALL(12-9, 5-5 Commonwealth): Feb. 11 at Elizabethtown*; Feb. 14 at Albright*.

Juniata posted a 2-1 record on the week, including a 78-71 win over conference foe Messiah. Juniata also captured a 73-56 non-conference win over LaRoche and dropped a heart-breaking 105-93 triple overtime game to Moravian. Travis Boyd (Juniata Valley/Barree) led the Eagles against LaRoche with a career-high 26 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Jeff Lau (York Catholic/Glen Rock) was also in double figures with 18 points and five rebounds. Nick Hager (Franklin/Franklin) was tops on the team with four assists, four steals and seven rebounds. In the win over Messiah Craig Biller (Penn Cambria/Loretto) led the team with 20 points on 6-11 shooting.

Lau filled up the stat sheet with 19 points seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Chris Jasiota (Oil City/Oil City) was also in double figures with 11 points. Boyd led the team with seven rebounds, while Tommy McConnell (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) matched Lau with three assists. Hager again led the defense with five steals. Against Moravian, Biller was again the high scorer with 24 points and added four assists and a pair of steals. Lau tossed in 21 points and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds. Jasiota finished with 12 points and a game-high three blocked shots, while McConnell added 10 points and a game-high seven assists.

WOMEN?S BASKETBALL (4-16, 1-9 Commonwealth): Feb. 11 at Elizabethtown*; Feb. 14 at Albright*.

Juniata dropped a pair of games this past week, one a slim 82-77 set-back to Moravian. Kristen Kirk (Newport/Newport) scored a career-high 29 points in the game and added a team-high five assists. Gretchen Hall (Cocalico/Denver) matched her career high with 18 points and added three steals and three assists. Jen Uhrich (Palmyra/Palmyra) added 15 points and led Juniata with seven rebounds, while Dana Reist (Manheim Central/Manheim) was also in double figures with 10 points. Uhrich recorded her fifth ?double-double? of the season in Juniata?s contest against Messiah as she scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Hall had eight points and five steals for the Eagles, and Lesley Snoby (Johnstown/Johnstown) posted a team-best three assists.

Juniata fell to Penn State 3-0 early in the week, and then had weather postpone a pair of matches over the weekend. Juniata lost its lone match by game scores of 30-20, 30-26 and 30-24. Kenny Eiser (Central Bucks West/Doylestown) led Juniata with 16 kills, a team-high .667 hitting percentage and a team-best three digs. Brian Dinning (Penn Hills/Pittsburgh) was also in double figures for the Eagles with 11 kills. Ricky Ziegler (Northeastern/Manchester) passed out 43 assists for Juniata and added two serve aces, while Cordt Withum (Penn Manor/Holtwood) led the team with two blocks. Glenn DeHaven (Walt Whitman/South Huntington, N.Y.) also finished with three digs.
