Carlisle, Pa.? In the final meet before the MAC Championships next weekend, the Juniata College men?s and women?s track teams posted a number of strong finishes at the Dickinson College Spring Classic in Carlisle Saturday afternoon.

Leading the way on the afternoon where the women sprinters who posted Juniata?s lone top finish for the Eagles. Stefanie Rynkewitz (Lewistown/Lewistown) placed first in the 400-meter dash in a time of 58.78. Right behind her was teammate Elena Amato (Notre Dame Prep./Baltimore, Md.) who placed second in the event. The duo added two more top finishes as Rynkewitz placed fifth in the 200-meter and Amato raced in fourth in the 800.

Also posting high finishes on the women?s side was Meredith Troutman (Meyersdale/Meyersdale) whose fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles rounded out Juniata?s top-10 finishes in the track events. In the field events Debbie Delaney (Franklin/Reisertown, Md.) placed fifth for the Eagles in the discus and Andrea Denkovich (Greencastle-Antrim/Greencastle) tossed the javelin 111? 10 ¼? to place fourth.

On the men?s side Dusty Sier (Smithsburg (Md.)/Smithsburg) placed fifth in the 100-meter dash and then earned a seventh-place finish in the 200. Matching Sier?s fifth-place finish was Chris Sheaffer (Central York/York) in the 1,500 and Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton) in the long jump. Randy Anderson (Dubois/Dubois) jumped to an eighth-place finish in the long jump. Shawn Miller (Altoona/Altoona) finished ninth in the pole vault.

Juniata will compete at the MAC Championships at Messiah College next weekend.
