The Juniata College Chemistry and Biochemistry Department aims to empower and nurture an inclusive community of diverse learners dedicated to cultivating chemical knowledge, acquiring scientific skills, and becoming responsible citizens of the world.

The Juniata chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS); students completing a baccalaureate degree that meets ACS Guidelines will receive an ‘ACS-certified degree’ in chemistry. Over 90% of chemistry students who graduated in the last decade participated in independent research with a Juniata faculty member.

Juniata provides students with access to state of the art scientific equipment, enabling them to conduct high quality research at the undergraduate level.   • Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer
  • Nicolet IS10 mid Infrared FT-IR Spectrometer with an ATR accessory
