The Early Childhood Education Center provides well above the adult-child ratios required
by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Pennsylvania
licensing standards. This high ratio, along with good classroom management enables
the staff to implement a discipline policy based on the prevention of behavior problems.
Positive redirection and logical and natural consequences also contribute to a positive and healthy atmosphere in the Center.
Behavior problems occur less frequently in the Center’s developmentally appropriate environment since the expectations are suitable for each child. Learning respect towards each other and towards the materials in the Center is stressed. We help the children learn self-regulation, pro-social behaviors, and problem-solving skills, while ensuring positive self-esteem.
