A four-year letter winner in baseball and football, he signed to play professionally in both sports - football for the Philadelphia Eagles and baseball with the Chicago Cubs. An honorable mention All-American and three-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference end in football (twice named to the first team), he started at every offensive position except quarterback during his days on College Hill. He led the team in receiving in 1962-63 and in punting from 1961-63. Fourth in school history with a .385 career baseball batting average, he was selected as both the Juniata football and baseball team MVP as a senior. A two-year letter winner in wrestling, he was a runner-up in the heavyweight class at the MAC Championships.

Both members of the class of 1929, Cy and Isabelle supported Juniata and its department of athletics for many years. On numerous occasions after Juniata varsity sports teams played near their home in Bryn Mawr, just outside of Philadelphia, the Caultons opened their doors to entertain, feed and welcome fellow alumni, Juniata athletes, coaches, parents and friends. They attended over 50 Homecoming football games on College Hill during their married lives and are well known by generations of Juniatians. Isabelle died on June 3, 1996, and is inducted posthumously.

Known as an outstanding all-around athlete, he played both offense and defense in football and excelled as primarily a defensive back as a junior and senior when he led the team in interceptions both seasons. His nine interceptions in 1972 was a school record at the time, and he remains in the Juniata top five for thefts in a season and career (17). He was the team's most valuable back in 1972. In track and field, he helped set a pair of school records in relay events and ran on the Middle Atlantic Conference mile relay championship team in 1973, when he also won individual MAC gold in the 440-yard hurdles and long jump. He was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine's "Faces in the Crowd" and was a recipient of Juniata's Stanford Mickle Award.

"Meteor Mike" was a three-year letter winner in both sports. An honorable mention football Little All-American as a back, he was a two-time All-State selection and was the second leading scorer in Pennsylvania as a senior with 93 points. He still ranks in the Juniata top five for career scoring and rushing yards, and was one of the most accurate extra point kickers in school history. An outfielder on the diamond, he posted a three-year batting average of over .300 and went on to play semi-professional baseball. He retired after 32 years of teaching and coaching football and baseball in the Aliquippa School District of Western Pennsylvania.

In a dozen seasons as men's basketball coach from 1949-61, his Juniata squads produced some of the school's most exciting players and record-setters, and posted 103 wins. The only Juniata basketball coach with 100 career victories, his best squad came in 1953-54 with a 15-6 mark during a stretch of five consecutive winning seasons from 1953-59. He served as head baseball coach in 1954 and also offered volunteer assistance to the Juniata football program. A local dentist, "Doc" was an outstanding athlete who played in the 1937 Rose Bowl for Coach Jock Sutherland's University of Pittsburgh squad and professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds organization. In 1992, Juniata established an annual men's basketball tournament in his honor.

A triple-threat, single-wing football quarterback, he was a Little All-American and All-State selection from 1938-40, and among the top scorers in Pennsylvania football during his career on College Hill. A three-year letter winner in basketball, he was better known as an outstanding baseball player and was captain of the diamond squad as a senior. He was considered a professional prospect as a second baseman, but an injury suffered during his senior football season hurt his throwing arm.

A first-team All-America pick as a senior in 1982, she topped the team in kills and blocks, and earned NCAA all-region tournament honors that year. A two-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection, she was team MVP as a junior when she led the squad in total blocks. She received NCAA all-national tournament honors in helping Juniata to a second place finish in the 1981 NCAA Division III National Championship. A former team captain, she later served as an assistant volleyball coach at Juniata in 1984.

A four-year letter winner as a defensive back, he was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Northern Division first-team all-stars at free safety for three consecutive years from 1978-80 - the second of only three Juniata players to accomplish that honor at one position. As a senior co-captain, he was named to the ECAC All-East Southern Region Team and was selected as Juniata's most valuable back. He led the team in interceptions for three straight seasons and remains in the school's top 10 for career thefts with 13. He has been the secondary coach for the football program since 1981, and was named defensive coordinator in 1994.

A three-time national qualifier, two-time Middle Atlantic Conference champion and the school's all-time victory leader with a 70-15-3 mark, he was the team MVP for the 1977-78, 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons. He won the MAC title in the 150-pound weight class in 1978 and again in 1979, when he posted a 22-4 record and earned All-America honors with a sixth-place showing at the NCAA Division III National Championships. A four-year letter winner and senior team captain, he placed fourth at the MAC Championships in 1977 and third in 1980, and was a three-time Lebanon Valley Invitational champion.

A basketball and track and field captain as a senior, she earned four varsity letters in basketball, three in cross country, and one in track during its first year as a varsity sport. She was a freshman starter on the 1979-80 women's basketball team that advanced to Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs and AIAW national quarterfinals. Her 32-point performance vs. Wilkes as a senior was a school record at the time. She helped the cross country team to the MAC co-championship in 1982, and as a senior was on a pair of Juniata record-setting MAC track championship relay teams. She received the school's Charles Bargerstock Award as the most outstanding woman athlete in her graduating class.

Bob Sill '59

A three-year football letter winner and starter fullback, he was named to the All-State third team in his sophomore year when he led Juniata's Tangerine Bowl team in rushing. He was also second in the state for total rushing during the 1955 regular season. An honorable mention All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection as a senior when he led the team in pass receiving, he played on undefeated teams in 1954, 1955 and 1958 - never losing a football game while playing at Juniata. He also earned a baseball letter in 1955, and went on to manage and play semi-professional baseball in the Bristol, Pa., area.

He had a long association with Juniata as an athlete, physical education instructor, coach and director of athletics (1942-61). As an undergraduate, he was a tackle/end in football, a guard in basketball, and held the school record in the two-mile run on the track. He was head football coach in 1942 and 1946, and head basketball coach from 1945-49. A long-time track and field mentor, he enjoyed his best win-loss success as men's cross country coach with his teams finishing 61-31-1 in dual meets during his tenure. Between 1957 and 1963, his Juniata harriers had five consecutive undefeated seasons and a school-record 38-meet winning streak. Beginning his tenure in 1930, he served the College until his retirement in 1968 - missing only three years during Navy duty in World War II.

A four-year letter winner and starter, the 6'6" center led Juniata in rebounding over four straight seasons from 1952-56, averaging a then school-record 13.4 rebounds per game during his senior year. Second for career rebounds (884) and ninth in scoring (1,124 points) on the Juniata all-time charts, he still holds the single-game board mark with 33 rebounds vs. Dickinson in January 1955. He was the first of only two players in Juniata history to average double figures per game in rebounding during three different seasons. He had several outstanding teams during 13 years of coaching high school basketball in New York.

As a basketball center he was team captain in 1939-40, when he earned All-Conference and honorable mention All-State recognition. A four-year member of the football team, he was a two-way end and captain during his senior season. A four-year standout in track and field, he ran the third leg for Juniata's record-setting relay team that won the Middle Atlantic Conference mile at the Penn Relays in both 1938 and 1939. He also held the individual school record for the 880-yard run, finished second in that event at the 1940 MAC Championships, and as a senior led the track and field team with 82 points.

Mel Wenger '35

He earned four varsity letters in both football and basketball, respectively, and three more in tennis. A top scorer in both football and basketball, he totaled 37 points in one season as a back/kicker/kick returner on the gridiron and often scored in double figures on the hardwood. His two free throws were the difference in a 38-36 upset win over W&J during the 1934-35 basketball season. He may best be known for scoring all five points (kicking a field goal and taking an intentional safety) in Juniata's 3-2 football victory over Gettysburg in the 1932 season opener - making Ripley's Believe It Or Not! for the feat.
