Juniata's school code is 003279. -
There is no financial aid listed on my statement. What should I do?
Review recent correspondence you have received from the Office of Student Financial Planning to determine if you have inadvertently neglected to respond to a request for additional information, academic progress, or other items. If you recall that you received a request for some information, but have simply failed to act on it, do so right away.
Review your recent correspondence (both regular and electronic) to ensure that you submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You should have a copy of the Student Aid Report and check the colleges listed to make sure that Juniata is listed.
It is possible that you have received a very recent award letter that was sent after information was released to the Accounting Office. If so, you can note that on the back of the remittance form before submission.
If, after reviewing your correspondence, you are unable to determine why your financial aid award has not been processed, contact the Office of Student Financial Planning.

I am getting an outside scholarship that is not listed on the statement. What should I do?
If the funds will be received by the due date of the bill, you should note that on the back of the remittance form and make an adjustment to the "Amount Due".Please Note: If your outside scholarship funds are fully disbursed for fall semester and you receive a refund for that term, you should retain those funds so they are available to use for your spring semester charges. If you would like the funds to be held in the Accounting Office, please contact Doreen Flasher at accounting@juniata.edu.

Can I combine options when making my payment arrangements?
Yes, you can use any combination of payment options. For example, you could pay part of the amount due each semester and finance the difference through a Parent PLUS loan. Or you could make monthly payments through Tuition Management Systems (www.afford.com) in conjunction with a prepayment and/or PLUS. -
Is there any paperwork I need to complete for the Perkins Loan?
Freshman Perkins Loan Promissory Notes and other documents were provided at Summer Orientation for those who attended a June session. The documents were in a blue envelope in the PARENT Orientation packet. Promissory Notes for students registered for the August Orientation session were mailed to the home address. Those completed documents should be sent to the Office of Student Financial Planning as soon as possible.Returning students are not required to complete a new Master Promissory Note for the Perkins Loan. Loan funds are disbursed from the Promissory Note that was signed during the freshman year.

My parents would like to apply for a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS). How do they do that?
The PLUS application can be found at www.aessuccess.org under "Parent Plus Loans" PLUS loan applications are processed for the full academic year, so be sure to include the amount that is needed for both fall and spring semesters. -
I am interested in applying for a loan in my name. Are they any available?
Yes, we have a list of "Alternative Loan Programs." These are educational loans through lenders we recommend. Most of these loans require that a student have a valid cosigner. You should compare the loan details related to interest rate, fees, etc. The list can be found at http://www.juniata.edu/admission/finplan/loanoptions.pdf. -
I am eligible for a Sci-Tech Scholarship, Robert Byrd Scholarship or an Academic Excellence Scholarship from PHEAA. However, it is not listed on my statement. Can I adjust my balance by that amount?
Those scholarships do not show on your statement until verification is received from PHEAA. If you know for certain that you continue to be eligible for the funds, you may adjust the "Balance due". You will receive a revised award letter when the confirmation is received from PHEAA.
