Juniatian Public Policies
The Juniatian makes every effort to avoid errors in its articles. However, some mistakes will inevitably occur. The Juniatian will print a retraction for any printed, factual item proven to be incorrect. Readers who believe they have spotted an incorrect fact should e-mail the Juniatian with “correction” in the subject line.
Points of view that differ from those presented in any Juniatian article should be expressed to the editors in the form of a publishable letter to the editor.
Unsigned editorials published in the commentary section reflect the opinion of the Juniatian as determined by the editorial board. The editorial board consists of the editor-in-chief and all section editors and design editors.
Views expressed in commentary, arts & entertainment, and sports columns reflect the opinion of the writer and not necessarily the opinion of the Juniatian.
Letters to the Editor
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni: send letters to the Juniatian. We print all letters to the editor that are of interest to the campus community in response to one of our articles, or on a separate topic. Please limit letters to approximately 300 words, and note that longer submissions may be edited slightly due to available space.
Letters to the Editor can be printed anonymously per the editors’ discretion on an individual basis. Letters printed anonymously must still be submitted to the editors with a name. Note your desire and reason for anonymity when you send your letter, and an editor will contact you.
The editors also decide anonymity of sources in articles on an individual, case-by-case basis.
Advertisements are printed in the Juniatian through a partnership with the Huntingdon Daily News. Any party interested in ad rates, sizes, and dates should contact the Daily News at (814)-643-4040.
The Juniatian will not print misleading advertisements (e.g. ads formatted to read like news articles). The Juniatian will not print advertisements for illegal products or services, and ads may not depict nudity or graphic imagery. Advertisements for tobacco and alcohol products are permitted.
