To Build A Trench
A Senior's Continuing Curiosity
Last semester, Jacob Gordon, '10, completed his senior thesis on poet Ivor Gurney during World War I, but his studies didn't end there. Earlier this past semester, he mulled over the idea of building a trench and living in it, to try and replicate what the soldiers that he researched and wrote about experienced themselves. In April, the project finally came to fruition.
The Juniata Campus News reported on the project before its completion. Jacob also kept a blog, chronicling the progress on building the trench, where he posted pictures, as well as the trench poetry that he wrote. Visit his blog, The Entrenched, to read his thoughts on the project.
