Summer and Fall Plans

By Heather Kleber '15

With the semester coming to an end, papers are frantically being turned in from students to professors, students are taking over the quad to study, play sports, and soak up the sunshine, and there is an overall buzz of excitement for summer to begin. The summer and fall semester can hold exciting plans for both students and professors. Here are some of the plans that will be executed over the next few months:

I am peer leading the Community Service Inbound Retreat. – Heather Kleber (Class of 2015)

I am looking forward to studying abroad in Germany! – Kymberly Mattern (Class of 2015)

This summer I’m looking forward to returning to my living history internship at Antietam National Battlefield and visiting family in California. – Olivia Millunzi (Class of 2016)

My plans are to participate in a workshop on genomics, grade AP exams, submit a book manuscript, plan for a sabbatical, and work on my golf game. – Dr. David Sowell

My plans are spend time with my dog, my husband, and to plan for my new class Gendering the Raj.  – Dr. Alison Fletcher

I will be spending my summer as a counselor at sunny Camp Fitch and look forward to returning next fall as the RA of the third floor of South. – Stephen Park (Class of 2015)

This summer I will be interning at Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg. In the fall I look forward to my senior year and to leading a CWS lab. – Kelsey Molseed (Class of 2014)

This fall I am heading to Athens, Greece to teach English at Psychico School as a Fulbright Fellow! – Toni Harr (Class of 2013)

My summer plans include making a presentation in June on environmental history and the American Revolution at a conference to be held at the University of Pennsylvania. At least three Pulitzer-Prize winners will be in the audience, so I’m a little nervous! A few weeks later, I go under the knife and will get a new left hip. I hope to be rehabbed enough by the Fall Cookout to take on David Sowell in croquet! – Dr. Dave Hsiung

I am looking forward to spending time with my sister and her newborn baby girl this summer. I am also excited to start classes this fall at The George Washington University in Washington D.C.,  where I will be pursing my master’s degree in Museum Studies. – Elena Popchock (Class of 2013)

Besides potentially attempting to find a job I shall be glittering, hiking, S’moring, singing, rowing, tenting, and overall enjoying the rustic fulfillment only found at Beacon Lodge. – Nathan Salamone (Class of 2013)
