Some more things that might be good to know before you accept this internship.
- It is good practice to spend time on all of the shifts and work alongside all of the officers. This provides the most well-rounded experience.
- While some days feature plenty of action and excitement, other days will not. Do not enter this internship with the expectation that every day will be like the television program COPS.
- This internship is meant to provide insight for those who will pursue a law enforcement career. If you do not have an interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement, you may not be accepted.
- Ask questions. From my experience, the officers are interested in helping you to gain the knowledge that you want. If you ask, I'm sure they would be glad to share what they know.
