A Midsummer Night's Dream
Juniata Theatre in collaboration with The Gravity Project produced Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in the Spring of 2006.
Nine Gates
Nine Gates is based on poet Jane Hirshfield's book of essays Nine Gates: Entering the Mind of Poetry. In addition to Ms. Hirshfield's poetry, we perform poems by Robert Haas, Annie Dillard, Denise Levertov, Stephen Dobyns, and Linda Pastan.
Standing Stone
In the winter of 2005, TGP began development work on Standing Stone with Juniata College students and presented a first iteration of that piece. The piece is drawn from many student-led interviews with local residents of the area surrounding Juniata College.
Heart
Heart is a piece that we plan to begin exploring in 2007. It's based on Stephen Dobyns' cycle of narrative poems. Heart will use a variety of different theatrical styles - bouffant clown, opera, shadow puppet, American musical, and realism - to render the poems, each style illuminating a different moment in the life of a character named Heart.
Noted composer and accordion player Guy Klucevsek is working on a musical score that will, at times, rise out of text and image and movement to be the voice of Heart's big heart.
