Professor of Accounting, Business and Economics, Provost and Executive Vice President for Student Development
Professor Lakso, B.A., cum laude, Wittenberg University; M.A., Ph.D. University of Maryland; joined the faculty at Juniata in 1970. He had previously worked as an economist for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
In addition to his teaching at Juniata, he has been assistant academic dean for social sciences,
assistant academic dean, director of summer sessions and adjunct professor at St. Francis College's Graduate School of Industrial Relations.
Dr. Lakso was awarded Juniata's Beachley Distinguished Professor Award in 1983. His publications include Capitalism and Growth of Government and Earned Income Differentials in 'A Theory of Justice.' His particular expertise is in the labor market, industrial organization, and statistical process control.
Dr. Lakso is a member of the American Economic Association and is also active in community organizations.
He is married to Bonnie and has two children. He enjoys sports in his leisure time.
