Do you or someone you know live with an invisible ailment -- Diabetes, art! hritis, epilepsy, ADHD, bipolar disorder, lyme disease, heart disease, Crohn's disease, lupus, or similar conditions? Then keep reading! Two future initiatives on campus may interest you.
1. "But you don't look sick!" awareness panel -- Seeking panelists to speak at an event open to the campus. Ideally, we're searching for about 5 students to share their story (be it their life with an invisible ailment, or their experience supporting a loved one who suffers) and participate in a Q&A session.
2. "We're not invisible" support group -- Living with an invisible ailment is hard stuff. It's hard for people to understand that which they cannot see. Therefore, a group has been proposed for students coping with invisible illnesses or who support loved ones coping with these conditions. Frequency of group meetings will depend upon the preference of its members and confidentiality will be maintained!
