Erik is originally from northern New Jersey. He graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications and Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Business Education. Prior to joining Juniata, Erik served as Executive Director for Alumni and Development at Lock Haven University for seven years. His primary responsibilities included leadership and oversight of the University's Capital Campaign, major gifts, annual giving, athletic fundraising, alumni events and services, and marketing of all alumni and development programs.
Erik also worked in private industry as a marketing manager for Superior Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio. He subsequently taught high school business education and computer applications courses and coached varsity softball at Middleburg High School in Pennsylvania.
Erik's wife, Cori, also graduated from Lock Haven University and received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003. She is currently an assistant professor in the Business Administration Department at Lock Haven University. Their family includes four children, Derrick, Olivia, Mitch, and Mia. Erik and Cori both enjoy traveling with their children, skiing, volleyball, running, and tennis. Erik also coaches Little League and youth soccer.
