Endowed Lectureships

Calvert N. Ellis Memorial Lectureship (1997)

In memory of Dr. Calvert N. Ellis '23, the sixth president of Juniata College, family and friends have established this endowment to annually bring to campus renown lecturers in philosophy and education. It is intended that these lecturers will be scheduled so that the entire Juniata community has the opportunity to share in the experience.

The Delbert McQuaide Distinguished Lectureship in History (1997)

An endowed history lectureship in memory of Delbert J. McQuaide '58 was established in 1997 with a major gift from the law firm of McQuaide Blasko Schwartz Fleming & Faulkner, as well as gifts from other colleagues and friends. After receiving his BA from Juniata, Delbert McQuaide received a Root-Tilden Scholarship, awarded to those who "show unusual capacity for unselfish public leadership." With this scholarship, he went on to receive his LLB from New York University School of Law. Having served the College for years in various capacities, Mr. McQuaide was elected to Juniata's Board of Trustees in 1994 and chaired the Board from 1996 until his death in 1997. The endowment is intended to support a lectureship in history because of Mr. McQuaide's admiration of former Juniata College history professor, Dr. Kenneth Crosby, and his devotion to history.

Will Judy Lectureship Fund (1958)

The Will Judy Lectureship provides for an annual series of lectures to supplement and enrich the Academic program of the College. It was established by Captain Will Judy '11, of Chicago. Each year, the Lectureship brings to campus leaders in government, education, the arts, natural science, business, or other areas of interest to the College community.
