I have been interested in psychology since elementary school. I started thinking about college in middle school. I found a list of thousands of colleges from all across the country; I systematically went through them to get a top eight list. Juniata was on that list.
Then, I learned to be practical. My family could not afford any of those schools plus all of the graduate work that I will have to do. I set aside the list and looked at other majors and other schools. In tenth grade, I got involved with a college prep program, Upward Bound. They taught me a lot about financial aid, and renewed my interest in attending Juniata.
They encouraged me to apply. I did, with mostly uniform results. If it had not been for this scholarship and the other ones I received, I would probably not be going here. Two of my other choices would have cost almost the same. One would have cost less. I love Juniata, but if it had cost more for me to come here, I probably would have gone there. Juniata has so many great things that my second choice does not, but we could not have afforded any more.
That is why I would like to thank you. I have spent years thinking about what I wanted to do, and you have helped make it possible.
