Program of Emphasis: Studio Art & Social Sciences
Hometown: Fayetteville, GA
High School: Fayette County High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: Things that initially attracted me to attend Juniata were: the art department, the study abroad opportunities, the many scholarships, and the possibilities to play sports.
Clubs and Organizations: MudJunkies- Secretary, then President Empty Bowls- on committee Relay for life- Team Captain SAC- (Student Athlete Council- representative for swim team)
Varsity Sports: Women's Soccer(Freshman year only)-Midfield Women's Swimming(Sophmore year to present)- Sprinter
Internship: This past summer I was the ceramics teacher at the Grier School in Tyrone PA, for their program: Grier Summer. I was a camp counselor for a unit of 8 girls and taught up to 3 ceramics classes a day.
Travels Abroad: Lille, France (summer program.) My favorite part about being in Lille was re-connecting with a student at the Universite Catholique who had been at JC the previous year for her study abroad.
Most Interesting Class: Nutrition with Kirkoff-Glazier. It is the only class that I can say has truly impacted my life/health decisions immediately. It makes me concious of my every day habits. I learn so much every day of class.
Favorite Faculty Member: Bethany Benson has employed me as a studio tech for 2 years now. I feel like she believes in my abilities and pushes me to do great things with my art eventhough I haven't taken a class with her since my freshman year. I can't wait to be in classes with her again next semester.
Honors Received: I made Dean's List freshman year, and have made the athletic honor roll since then.
Thank you!
Thank you very much for your generosity; the scholarship I have been awarded makes up the difference that allows me to afford the excellent education that Juniata provides. I'm extremely happy at Juniata, and value my experiences here greatly. You are a contributor in making all of this possible.
