Hannah Peck
Program of Emphasis: Social Work
Hometown: Lewistown, PA
High School: Indian Valley High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose Juniata because of the excellent academic reputation that it holds. I wanted to go to a liberal arts school to expand my mind and learn more about who I am and the world around me. Juniata helps me to do that through their many clubs and activities, amazing professors, and challenging academics.
Clubs and Organizations: Social Dance Club, Dance Ensemble, Planting Seeds, CMB, Habitat for Humanity
Internship: I worked at MainStream Counselling in Huntingdon PA with the after school program for at risk teenagers. I attended field trips that they went on and was a part of the group discussions.
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class I took this year was Minority Experience. It opened my eyes to the discrimination that still goes on today and how society views race.
Favorite Faculty Member: Susan Radis has had an impact on my life. She is my advisor and professor for Life Cycle Development class. She has helped me with difficult scheduling problems and has always been a listening ear when I needed one. She has also been helpful to help me find internship ideas for over the summer.
Honors Received: I am a member of the Thespian Society.
Thank you!
I am very grateful for receiving this scholarship. Without the help of generous donors as yourself I would not be able to reach my goals of becoming a Social Worker and helping those in need. Through your willingness to help me, I am able to help others reach their goals through my career choice.
Sincerely,
Hannah Peck
