David Kaas
Program of Emphasis: Biopsychology
Hometown: Gardners, PA
High School: Bermudian Springs High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata because of its large science programs, its small community feel, and it was in the sweet spot of distance away from home that I can go home but I am slightly discouraged from doing that due to the travel time.
Clubs and Organizations: Ministry of Games, I restarted the Nerf section of the club my freshmen year and since then have expanded it to be one of the largest sections of the club.
Internship: I did an internship at the Cumberland County Prison where I worked with the treatment staff for 6 weeks in various roles dealing with inmates.
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class is Dirty Books. It is so interesting because the books we are reading are outside the norm so it makes us as a class have to think and really look at ourselves.
Favorite Faculty Member: Not one faculty member has made a difference in my life; it has been several of them by now. The big influences come from Dr. Widman, Dr. Dunwoody, and Ron.
Thank you!
Thank you for this scholarship. Without it I am not sure I would have been able to attend Juniata. It has allowed me to make a huge change in my life and even meet my future wife here.
Sincerely,
David Kaas
