Why I chose to attend Juniata: Connecticut being somewhat far away, I am often asked why I left the city to attend college in the rural area of Huntingdon, Pa. I must say, I love it here! I was never able to visit campus before deciding to come here, but I am glad I did! Besides the great reputation Juniata had regarding their science programs and the beautiful location by the mountains, it was the people that ultimately led to my decision. I received random letters in the mail with newspaper clippings my admissions counselor thought I would like and the occasional phone call asking me if I had any questions. I loved that the school was so personal while I was a possible student, and being here, the people- staff and students alike- are even friendlier! Although the work load is a lot more than most colleges and many people expected, I will never regret my decision to come here!

Most Interesting Class: I absolutely loved my Origins of Evil class I took last semester (spring of 2012). Although it was listed as a religion class, it was basically like taking a class on psychoanalysis. There is even a project at the end where we have to go up in front of the class and discuss our darkest evils. You learn so much about people, people that are from all different backgrounds, and nobody judged. I recommend this class to anyone who asks about it.

Favorite Faculty Member: Professor Braxton (religion) has definitely changed my life after taking Origins of Evil last year. I feel like anyone that took the class could say the same thing. Having to sit in front of a group of people you barely knew and present about the most evil and painful aspects of your life and self really makes you think. He even provided us with advice as to how we can go about changing our lives for the better.
