Jeffrey Yoder
Program of Emphasis: English
Hometown: Mahaffey, PA
High School: Purchase Line High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose Juniata because of the atmosphere on campus when I first visited. I like that the professors seemed to be involved with students and did not treat them as a number on their grading sheet.
Clubs and Organizations: I'm the President of Racquetball Club and a CIS representative for intramural sports on campus as well as a member of JAB.
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class I have taken this year is called Writing Across Media. This class is interesting because as an English major it is obvious to me that jobs after college will revolve around writing on the web and editing online content rather than print.
Favorite Faculty Member: My adviser Professor Amy Mathur has made the biggest difference for me. She is always around so that I can ask questions and I trust her advice a lot.
Thank you!
For anyone that wants to go to college financial support is extremely important. If I was unable to get scholarships or financial aid there is a good chance that I would not have been able to start college at the time that I did. I would like to say thank you to the class of 1984 for donating money to Juniata's scholarship fund, a fund that greatly helps all students who are in need including myself.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Yoder
