Joseph Penzo
Program of Emphasis: Management
Hometown: Grassflat, PA
High School: West Branch Area High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata primarily because of the sense of community I felt on each of my visits. I came from a very small town and felt right at home at Juniata.
Clubs and Organizations: I was most active in the River Rats Rugby Club. I am in my fourth year of playing the game and I love it, as well as the friends I have made through the club. Currently I hold the position of Treasurer. I have also been involved with the college radio show, Power 92.3 WKVR, having my own show and as of this year the position of Marketing Director for the station.
Internship: For three years I have worked through the Community Service office at the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce. I have learned a lot about small town business and non-profit management in this time, which has been a valuable experience for me in and out of class.
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class I have taken this year so far is Human Resource Management. I am finding this class to be the most interesting because there is a good group of students in the class and we always have good discussion about the topics presented to us.
Favorite Faculty Member: One faculty member who has made a difference in my life is my adviser, Randy Rosenberger. We have very similar personalities and interests so it has always been easy to talk to him and hear what he has had to say and make the best out of it.
Thank you!
This scholarship I received is the only reason I am able to attend Juniata. Plain and simple. For this reason I am extremely grateful for the continued generosity of all the classes that have come before me. Without the financial support granted by my scholarship, I do not think I would have been able to attend college. Thank you so much!
Gratefully,
Joseph Penzo
