Elizabeth Faust
Program of Emphasis: Art History/ Museum Studies
Hometown: Frederick, MD
High School: Catoctin High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: It was the best opportunity that I saw. I wanted to connect, to get away from home and be on my own. To be part of a community that would support me no matter where I went or would become.
Clubs and Organizations: Juniata Activities Board (Madrigal Chair)
Most Interesting Class: Museum Studies most definitely. Ever since I can remember I've wanted to become a museum curator and this class just confirms this dream. I feel as if I'm almost there even through all the trials and tribulations this class just makes it seem better. My dream is within my sight and within touching distance.
Favorite Faculty Member: All of them really. I haven't had a professor I didn't like. Even for math, which I have a fear of, is made better by my awesome professor. They are all great at what they do and they are also very nice and great advisors. They are easy to talk to and help me with any problems I have.
Thank you!
Dear Class of 1971,
Thank you for your donation which has made my experience possible. Let me give you a peak at what exactly you have made possible. Without this scholarship and all the others I would not have met my best friends in the world who have made me grow as a person by showing me that anything is possible. They not only show me what is right in the world but how I can help fix it through teamwork and listening. Without this scholarship, I would still be in a cocoon all on my own instead of growing into a butterfly, not only in mind but in maturity as well. I would not have met my amazing roommate who has been there through thick and thin and calms me down whenever I start to worry too much about tests. I would not have met and established connections with my professors and I would not have been able to see the world through different and new eyes. I also would not have been able to meet the staff and janitors on and around campus who I talk with every day. Without these scholarships I would not be here. Instead, I would still be back home in farmland working day and night to make ends meet, not just for me, but for my family as well. For my working grandmother who is seventy-seven, who has worked the same job for fifty-one years. For my brother who is a freshman in high school and my mother who has supported me all these years. Today, your contributions are even more important since the recent hurricane and the excessive damage done to my residence. A lot of personal belongings were lost and reconstruction has been difficult but it just makes me more thankful for all of my scholarships and especially to the people who made them possible. I would just like to personally thank each and every one of you for allowing me the chance to be part of the Juniata Community and the chance to get an education that I would not otherwise have.
Gratefully yours,
Elizabeth Faust
