Curtis Sherwood
Program of Emphasis: Wildlife Conservation
Hometown: Wellsboro, PA
High School: Wellsboro Area School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: From the minute I walked on to campus and saw the smiling faces and well-kept lawn I knew Juniata was the place for me. People were friendly upon the first meeting.
Clubs and Organizations: Juniata College Concert Choir, Tenor 2
Internship: Environmental Internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I learned to work in a professional manner while leading contractors in caring for our national parks.
Travels Abroad: Lille, France. I continue to study in Lille and hope for many more fantastic experiences, but getting to know the world in a different perspective always amazes me. The fact that I learn everyday plenty of new things about myself and the world is the highlight!
Most Interesting Class: Botany and Evolution are my favorite classes here. Because my classes are in French, it makes it much easier when the professor is organized and speaks clearly.
Favorite Faculty Member: Dr. Russell Shelley has been my choir director and "life coach" all in one person. He teaches anyone within his vicinity how to act like an adult, making the decisions that shape our lives. He pushes us to see the present so that we can work towards a bright future.
Thank you!
Thank you! Your support allows me to make an adult out of myself. Without this help I would have chosen a less expensive college and would have received half of the education that I have from Juniata.
Thank you again for your support. It really makes a difference in the lives of students!
Sincerely,
Curtis Sherwood
