Program of Emphasis: Communication & Media Studies
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
High School: The Seton Keogh High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata College because of it's intimate campus and involved faculty. I have never felt like a number and it's the only place with Mountain Day.
Clubs and Organizations: Co-President of Lambda Pi Eta (Communication National Honors Society) Co-President of Communication Media Club Vice President of Catholic Council Co-Coordinator of Empty Bowls Fundraiser
Travels Abroad: I studied in the University of Leeds. It was the most incredible time of my life to live in a place where I truly knew no one. I even traveled to Tromsø, Norway and saw the Northern Lights.
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class I've taken this year is Wheel Throwing. It's a class I've always wanted to take and was lucky enough to be able to do so this year. I love being able to walk away from the ceramics studio knowing I created something physical and tangible.
Favorite Faculty Member: The faculty member that has made a difference in my life would have to be Dr. Lynn Cockett. She has always pushed me to do better and has always been a positive force in my life for the past four years.
Honors Received: Lambda Pi Eta, Delta Omega Chapter
Thank you!
For the past four years the class of 1975 has provided what has been one of the most life-changing experiences. Because of their generosity I have been able to be the first person in my family, both immediate and extended, to attend College. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pursue an education that otherwise would not have been possible.
Sincerely yours,
Ariel Lawver
