Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata college because it is a small college atmosphere with big oppurtunities. Juniata College has a great academic reputation that is only superceded by its small, close-knit community reputation. In addition, Juniata College allowed me to continue my athletic career without it hindering the furthering of my education. My local family added to the feeling of "home" at Juniata.

Clubs and Organizations: *Society of Physics Students - Member *Eagles Ambassador - Member *Bonners Leaders - National Congress Representative *Tour Guide *Student Assistant in Enrollment *Student Assistant in Music - Instrumental Stage Crew

Varsity Sports: *Football - Middle Linebacker #43

Travels Abroad: I guess it depends on one's interpretation of "study abroad", but I was involved in Remote Field Course, a course that is offered for two credits in the spring and two credits in the summer. The spring portion of the course is meant to educate students on the Colorado Plateau by introducing interdisciplinary topics such as Psychology, Physics, and Biology. During the summer course, students and faculty go on a 17 day excursion to New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah and explore first hand the many topics discussed in the spring course. It was an amazing experience. I learned much about the lifestyle and history of this part of the country while having the time of my life hiking, white water rafting, and camping.

Most Interesting Class: History of Mathematics, with Dr. Bukowski, was the most interesting course I have taken this year. Usually I am only exposed to the numbers and applications side of Physics and Mathematics; however, this course has allowed me to explore the lives of those that have shaped the world through mathematics and its applications.

Favorite Faculty Member: Dr. Mark Pearson, von Liebig Post Doctoral Fellow in Optical Physics, has changed my perspective on experimental physics. Before my Modern Physics lab this year, I wanted no part of labs. I was never a big fan of them. This year, through his class, I have learned that not only can lab work be rewarding, but it could also be fun. His determination to not only get labs working, but to squeeze as much information as possible out of them has inspired me to do the same. In fact, I was bent on doing engineering physics and trying to avoid any of the more theoretical classes. Now, however, Dr. Pearson's interest in why things are the way they are experimentally, I have decided to stick with the regular Physics POE and learn the theory, so I can view engineering with a more well-established background in graduate school.
