Program of Emphasis: Education
Hometown: Lansdale, PA
High School: Crefeld School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I have always attended small schools. I like the small classroom environment, and the ability to be able to develop a relationship with my teacher. I want to be viewed as an individual, and not just a number. Being at Juniata College has done just that. I feel comfortable approaching my classmates and my teachers if I need help with something. Everyone here at the school has made my first semester here a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to see what the rest of my years have in store for me!
Most Interesting Class: I would have to say the most interesting class, as of now, would have to be my Child Development lab. I like the opportunity to be able to go into the ECEC and interact with the children. Being able to do that has given me experience that I can take and apply to my future classroom.
Favorite Faculty Member: My Survey of Western Art Teacher, Jennifer Streb, has had an impact on my life. She is a really good teacher; she takes the time to explain the different pieces of art that we look at. I feel comfortable going up to her after class and asking her for help if I need something. Because of her I look at art differently. I appreciate what she has done.
Thank you!
I would like to thank the Juniata College class of 1971 for awarding me this scholarship. Words cannot explain how happy I am that I was given this scholarship, and more importantly the opportunity to attend college. I will make the most of this moment and pursue my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. Again, thank you so much for helping me take one step closer to reaching my goal.
Sincerely,
Brian Wiley
