Program of Emphasis: Politics

Hometown: Northern Cambria, PA

High School: Northern Cambria High School

Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose Juniata College because it offered so many things I was interested in studying. I was interested in politics, international affairs, and peace and conflict. It is also a small school that had small class sizes and gave one on one attention to its students. When I sat in on some classes I was so impressed with how much the teachers cared about the students and each time I visited the people in the enrollment office were very welcoming to all my questions.

Clubs and Organizations: Pre Law Club Communications Club Writer's Block Club

Most Interesting Class: I attended the Democratic National Convention as a part of the Washington Center's Academic Seminar and Field Work that was offered for class credit here at Juniata. In Charlotte North Carolina I attended academic seminars that were really interesting because my classmates were from colleges all around the country and each one had insight to give on our political discussions. I also got to work alongside Voice of America and assist them at the DNC. This class was amazing because I was able to attend all three nights of the DNC and see President Obama give his acceptance speech along with many other famous politicians and speakers.

Favorite Faculty Member: Dr. Kirchhof-Glazier is an amazing professor here at Juniata. I am not a big science student but this semester I took her Nutrition class and I was able to understand the material well because of her great teaching. She was patient, understanding, and was always happy to answer questions. She also explained the material in great detail so that I was able to understand even the most complex processes. All the material can also be related to real life. Overall she was simply a great teacher and really cared about her students learning.
