Program of Emphasis: Museum Studies & History
Hometown: Albuquerque, NM
High School: La Cueva High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata because of the curriculum offered, but also because the people at Juniata are all very kind in their own way. Almost everyone I have made friends with have all been compassionate people who are passionate about what they do with their lives. The professors are intelligent and helpful people as well.
Clubs and Organizations: AWOL Trans*Parachute EMT/CPR
Most Interesting Class: The most interesting class I have participated in so far is French, because it is a new language to me and learning the language as well as a new culture is incredibly interesting.
Favorite Faculty Member: Rosalie Rodriguez was willing to listen to me when I had a difficult time transitioning into college from a very vibrant and mixed culture into Huntingdon. She teaches classes on different privileges that one can have and is in charge of the Beyond Tolerance series done at Juniata. She's an absolute asset to the college.
My family's finances are sometimes unstable, and receiving this scholarship has not only helped me but my family. I would be in significant debt had I not received this scholarship.
I can achieve my goals with much more ease without having to put financial stress onto my family.
Thank you again,
Class of 2017
