Program of Emphasis: Environmental Science
Hometown: Harleysville, PA
High School: Souderton Area High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I knew that with such a small school environment it was going to be easy to connect with professors, students and to perform certain actions that may be difficult to do at a larger school. I also chose Juniata because of their excellent academics especially in the environmental department. The Field Station was also a big contributor for me choosing Juniata.
Clubs and Organizations: Player for the Rugby team
Most Interesting Class: Environmental Systems. Environmental systems was interesting for me because every other class we would go out to the field to collect data and to observe real life scenarios that we were learning in the classroom.
Favorite Faculty Member: Professor Stiffler, because during his World Civilizations course he took us on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum in New York and that was a great experience that I will never forget.
I would like to thank the Parents and Friends of Juniata for presenting me with a Juniata Scholarship Fund award this year. I am very grateful for this award and it gives me even more motivation to keep working hard here at Juniata. This award means a lot to me because it shows that Juniata and everyone affiliated with Juniata cares about the current students and wants them to succeed in college. When students are aware that their school cares about them as much as Juniata, it helps them to work even harder and not to give up even when times are a struggle. Thank you for your care and support.
