Program of Emphasis: Discourses of War and Peace
Hometown: Huntingdon, PA
High School: South Side High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose to attend Juniata mainly because of its friendly/home-y atmosphere and amazing Peace and Conflict Studies department, which is now the department in which I take most of my classes.
Clubs and Organizations: -All Ways of Loving - Treasurer last year -Juniata Concert Choir - Soprano 2 -French Club
Internship: -Teacher of Conflict Resolution to Kindergartners in Huntingdon spring semester 2013 -Intern at The French Office of Immigration and Integration (this semester)
Travels Abroad: Lille, France: Summer 2013 Strasbourg, France: Fall 2013 It has been such an amazing experience so far. I have traveled, made new friends, increased my French skills, and there is still more to come!
Most Interesting Class: Mondialisation (Globalization)--taught in French and the professor loves to debate with us and say controversial things to make us talk--it's fun!
Favorite Faculty Member: It's unfair to me to name just one but I will say Professors Polly Walker, Cynthia Merriwether-DeVries and Michael Henderson are amazing just to name a few. They have been there for me all throughout my studies at Juniata!
This scholarship is more important to me now that it has been in the past. This is because right now, I am studying abroad in France for the semester. This would not have been possible if I did not recieve aid and scholarships from generous people like you. Everyday I am amazed and so grateful to have been able to achieve one of my dreams. I am eternally thankful for the donors to this fund for not only my scholarship but the other students out there that are financially independent yet determined to succeed.
