Program of Emphasis: Health Communication and Marketing
Hometown: Johnstown, PA
High School: Central Cambria High School
Why I chose to attend Juniata: I chose Juniata for its academic reputation, unique community, and it gave me the opportunity to individualize my academic experience.
Clubs and Organizations: Juniata Activity Board, Eagle Ambassadors, PAWS, The Juniatian, active volunteer, on-campus employee (Marketing Department and Development Office).
Most Interesting Class: A few of my favorite courses I have take over the course of my 3 years were Nutrition, Mass Media & Society, and Marketing Management. This year during my fall semester of junior year the most interesting class I had was Ethics of Health Care. It was interesting to me as it showed me that we will be faced with decisions in our lives that relate to controversial issues. Although, I will not be in the shoes of a physician, it was mentally challenging and made me think about my position on real-life issues.
Favorite Faculty Member: The faculty member that has made an impact in my life at Juniata is Grace Fala, who is a professor and POE advisor to me. I enjoy her enthusiasm and her passion. After hearing her speak during a course my freshman year, it is what lead me to my current POE and realizing my true interests in not only health, but communication and business/marketing.
I would just like to take this time to thank you for your generous contribution to my education. Because of your generosity, you have created opportunity. I have had the opportunity to discover what I have a passion for in terms of a future career path and personal interests. Without your financial support, it would be very difficult for my family and myself to get me through the four years here. I have been given access to a unique college that has furthered my knowledge and has given me the skills that will allow me to advance successfully into the "real world" after graduation.
